Those red lines are tiny veins, not a stain
The fine red and blue lines around your nose and across your cheeks are tiny blood vessels that have widened and stayed that way, close enough to the surface to see. They aren’t a stain, so nothing you put on your skin will clear them. Concealer only covers them, every day.
This laser heats the blood inside the vein. The vein closes, and your body clears it over the next few weeks. The skin over it is left alone.
What to expect during treatment
Sessions take 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how many veins we treat. Each pulse feels like a quick, sharp sting with warmth, and we keep your skin cool throughout. Some veins fade right away; others darken first and fade over the following weeks.
Afterward the area is red and may feel warm for a day or two. Bruising over larger veins happens sometimes and fades within one to two weeks.
Who it’s for
It’s for you if you have visible spider veins or broken capillaries around your nose, cheeks or chin, and you’d rather treat them than cover them every day. If your concern is overall flushing rather than separate lines,IPL for redness may be the place to start.
On skin tone: this laser puts less of its energy into the pigment in your skin than many lasers, which is one reason we chose it for vein work. We still check your skin tone first and plan for you. Leg veins are different, so we decide on those case by case at your exam.
How we do it
Not bookable yet. Georgia requires an exam by a qualified provider before this kind of laser treatment. We’re setting that up now. Until it’s in place, this treatment can’t be scheduled.
Once it is, your visit starts with your skin, not the machine: a skin tone check, a map of the veins to treat, then sessions 4–6 weeks apart so your body can clear treated veins between visits. If something else will serve your skin better, we’ll tell you. We take photos at every visit to see what’s cleared and what needs another pass.
Downtime and aftercare
- Expect redness and warmth for 1–2 days. Cool compresses are fine.
- Bruising over larger veins can happen and fades over 1–2 weeks.
- Skip hard workouts, saunas, hot showers and alcohol for 24–48 hours. Heat and flushing work against the treatment.
- Cleanse gently. Skip exfoliants and retinoids until the redness is gone.
- Wear SPF every day and stay out of the sun during your series.
- You’ll get written aftercare after every session.
Results timeline
Some veins fade during the session. Others darken first, then fade over 2–6 weeks as your body clears them. We check progress at 4–6 weeks, which sets the pace. Many small facial veins respond in 1–3 sessions. Skin that forms these veins can form new ones over time, so we’ll talk honestly about touch-ups.

What kinds of veins does this treat?
Separate, visible veins: the fine red or blue lines around the nose, cheeks and chin, and some small red spots made of blood vessels. Your exam decides which ones are a good fit.
How is this different from IPL for redness?
IPL works on overall redness and flushing across an area. This laser treats individual veins and reaches deeper. Some people need one, some the other, some both. Your assessment decides.
Does it hurt?
Each pulse feels like a quick, sharp sting with warmth. Sessions are short, and we keep your skin cool. Any tenderness afterward is usually mild and brief.
Can it darken or burn my skin?
It can if the settings don’t suit your skin. That’s why we check your skin tone first, start gently, and use a test spot when needed. Bruising over larger veins can happen and fades in 1–2 weeks.

Leg veins behave differently and are often linked to larger veins underneath that need checking first. We decide on legs case by case at your exam, and we’ll point you to a vein clinic when that’s the better route.
