Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing uses a gentle resurfacing laser that works beneath the surface while leaving the top layer intact, prompting your skin to renew itself where acne scars, rough texture, fine lines or stretch marks sit.

Texture sits below the surface, so creams can only do so much
Acne scars, rough texture, fine lines and stretch marks sit in the deeper layers of skin, below where creams reach. That’s why a good routine can brighten your skin and still leave texture unchanged.
Laser resurfacing treats tiny points of skin at a time, with untouched skin around each one to help it heal. Your skin responds by building new collagen where the texture sits. Because the surface stays in place, recovery takes days, not weeks. The trade-off is that change comes gradually, over a series.
What to expect during treatment
We cleanse your skin and apply numbing cream for about 30 minutes. The treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes for a full face, less for smaller areas like individual scars.
It feels hot and prickly, and we keep your skin cool throughout. Most people find it manageable with numbing. Afterward your skin is red and warm, like a strong sunburn, and mild swelling is common for a day or two.
Who it’s for
It’s for you if your main concern is texture: acne scars, rough or uneven skin, fine lines or stretch marks. It’s usually the clearest fit for light, medium and olive skin. If your concern is dark spots or redness, a different treatment usually fits better.
On brown and deeper skin, resurfacing lasers carry a higher chance of leaving dark marks behind. So we start with a careful conversation and a test spot, and for acne scars we often suggest starting with microneedling instead. Here’s how your skin tone shapes your plan.
How we do it
Not bookable yet. Georgia requires an exam by a qualified provider before this kind of laser treatment. We’re setting that up now. Until it’s in place, this treatment can’t be scheduled.
Once it is, your visit starts with your skin, not the machine: a skin tone check, a test spot for deeper skin, then 3–5 sessions about a month apart, starting gently. If something else will serve your skin better, we’ll tell you. We take photos at every visit so you can see real progress.
Downtime and aftercare
- Expect redness and mild swelling for 2–4 days. Skin can feel rough or look faintly patterned for a few days after.
- Cleanse gently and moisturize. Skip scrubs, retinoids and acids until your skin settles.
- Wear SPF every day and stay out of the sun during your series.
- Skip hard workouts, saunas and hot showers for 24–48 hours.
- Don’t pick or peel flaking skin.
- You’ll get written aftercare after every session.
Results timeline
Redness and swelling settle over the first few days. Early smoothing can show in weeks 2–4. Most change builds over 3–5 sessions about a month apart, and your skin keeps rebuilding for 3–6 months after the last one. We track it with photos, not guesses.
Pricing
Prices will be published when this treatment becomes available, per session and per series. Cost depends on the size of the area and how many sessions you need. We don’t sell packages before we’ve seen your skin.
Questions and answers
How much does laser skin resurfacing cost?
Prices will be published when this treatment becomes available, per session and per series. We don’t quote prices before then, and we don’t sell packages before we’ve seen your skin.
Can I book laser resurfacing now?
Not yet. Georgia requires an exam by a qualified provider before this kind of laser treatment, and we’re setting that up now. The waitlist records your interest. It isn’t a booking.
Does it hurt?
You’ll feel it. Most people describe a hot, prickly feeling. We use numbing cream first and keep your skin cool during treatment, and the discomfort fades soon after.
Can it darken or burn my skin?
It can, and the chance of dark marks is higher on brown and deeper skin. That’s why we start with a skin check, use a test spot for deeper skin, and begin gently. Sometimes we’ll suggest a different first step.
What’s the real downtime?
Usually 2–4 days of redness and mild swelling, like a sunburn. Skin can feel rough for a few days after. Makeup is usually fine after 24–48 hours.
Is laser resurfacing right for brown or deeper skin?
Sometimes, but not by default. We start with a careful conversation and a test spot. For acne scars in brown or deeper skin, we often suggest starting with microneedling instead. Your assessment gives the real answer.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 3–5, about a month apart. Texture changes gradually as your skin rebuilds. This isn’t a one-visit treatment.
How is this different from stronger resurfacing lasers?
Stronger lasers remove the outer layer of skin. This one works beneath it and leaves the surface in place. Change is more gradual, and recovery is much shorter.
Can laser resurfacing treat melasma?
We don’t use lasers for melasma, because heat can make it worse. We start with sun protection and skincare, then an assessment.
